About This Spot

Stepping into Carolina Fried Chicken and House of Pizza in Robbins feels like entering a well-worn neighborhood joint where time moves at a comfortable, unhurried pace. The modest façade and familiar signage might not grab your attention from afar, but once inside, there’s an ease and warmth that invites you to linger, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in with family and friends. It’s the kind of place where laughter from the staff blends with the hum of the kitchen — a steady, reassuring soundtrack to your meal.

The atmosphere here is straightforward and unpretentious, with a hint of old-school charm. The building’s vintage vibe, complete with the kind of slightly sticky tables that speak to a long history of shared meals, doesn’t detract from the genuine care that goes into the food and service. It’s a spot where locals gather and newcomers quickly feel like part of the crowd, drawn by genuine smiles and a sense of community rather than flashy decor or fine dining frills.

The menu, a curious but compelling mix of fried chicken and pizza, better reveals itself as a celebration of comfort and tradition rather than trend. The fried chicken, famously crispy and juicy, offers a satisfying contrast alongside classics like homemade potato salad and tangy coleslaw. For many, the real magic lies in the familiar flavors served up with an honest hand — whether it’s the tender popcorn chicken that delights kids or the hearty wing dinners for those craving something a bit bolder. Side dishes like okra and onion rings round out the experience, grounding the meal in southern roots, while occasional surprises on the menu keep the experience fresh.

This is a place that thrives on authenticity; it embraces the moments in between the bites—the friendly exchanges, the sound of families sharing stories, and the quiet satisfaction of a meal well enjoyed. It’s not about perfection but about feeling at home in a bustling little corner of Robbins where simple, good food meets warm, human moments.

Drove by this place 5-6 times a year for the last 8yrs and never stopped. Finally stopped today and got some chicken & shrimp to go. It was awesome! The restaurant had a great staff too, those ladies were funny and upbeat for having to work first shift on a weekend. I have to say I should have stopped in here sooner!

The fried chicken was perfect but my timing was not. I got there just after church let out on Sunday. It took right at 20 minutes for me to get my food after I ordered it. I look forward to going back again, just not on a Sunday. They were very busy for a reason and it was a good reason.

Just passing by on a family roadtrip, we stumbled on the place and got curious "a fried chicken and pizza place is an odd combination" we said. "Let's get something and hit the road." Well, pizza is off the options. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, the kids loved the nuggets and their bbq sauce, the fries were good, but the coleslaw...it was glorious! The staff was friendly and patient with me as a newbie who had no idea of their menu. And had lunch for two adults and two kids with food to spare under $30. I would like to try it again.

This restaurant is worth the drive and wait if you want good HOT CRISPY fried chicken gizzards and livers!!! All at a reasonable price. You can get the mixed plate or separate. I'm still excited about this review!!!

Good food, we had fried chicken and shrimp. Good stuff. Staff very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is...well non existent. Tables are sticky, the building is an older building, but if you can look past that it's worth a stop.
